Platforms & Compilers
Charon uses the Cmake system to configure builds. Building Charon also requires a modern MPI C++ compiler (Open-MPI) with a minimum of C++11 support. Read the installation instructions in the user manual carefully, and ensure the third-party libraries are installed before attempting compilation.
Charon is routinely compiled and tested on the following platforms:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, versions 6 and 7
- Ubuntu Linux
Users have successfully compiled Charon on other operating systems, including
- Mac OS X
