Charon requires several third-party libraries when compiling from source. Most libraries that Charon depends on are available through system package managers. The libraries are also available in source form, which you can compile yourself. See the Charon User Manual for more details. Links to the required libraries are below.
- BLAS and LAPACK:
- Highly efficient versions of BLAS and LAPACK are provided by ATLAS. Many operating systems have optimized versions of ATLAS available through their package management systems. On Macs, optimized versions are supplied with Xcode as part of its Accelerate framework.
- Trilinos:
- This suite of packages, developed at Sandia, is not available in any package managers and must be compiled from source. The Charon build system will build Trilinos in the proper configuration as it builds Charon.
- TriBITS:
- Build, integrate and test framework.
- Netcdf:
- software libraries and machine-independent data formats that support the creation, access, and sharing of array-oriented scientific data.
- HDF5:
- High performance data software library and file format to manage, process, and store heterogeneous data.
- Boost:
- Portable C++ libraries.
- Open MPI
- Open source message passing interface implementation.
